New
Orleans District Nurses Association
Honor Nurses for National Nurse Week
"Nurses:
Lifting Spirits, Touching Lives"
is the theme for National Nurses Week
from May 6-12. The New Orleans District
Nurses' Association and Touro Infirmary
will be recognizing nurses by hosting
a Nurse Day, May 7, 2003.
The
event will be held at Twi-ro-Pa, 1544
Tchoupitoulas Street from 7:00 p.m.-12:00
a.m. Nurses drink beer and wine and
eat for FREE with a valid RN License.
All other licensed nurses are welcomed
to attend for a fee of $10.00.
National
Nurses Week begins on May 6, marked
as RN Recognition Day, and ends on May
12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale,
founder of nursing as a modern profession.
The
ANA, through the New Orleans District
Nurses Association and 53 other constituent
member associations, advances the nursing
profession by fostering high standards
of nursing practice, promoting economic
and general welfare, promoting a positive
and realistic view of nursing and lobbying
Congress and the regulatory agencies
on health care issues affecting nurses
and the public.
